I’m a philosophy professor and creative writer. Most of my recent writing combines personal narrative with philosophical reflection, about, say, human relationships, meaning in life, and what memoir and philosophy are and why they matter.

I teach at Wellesley College and am represented by Alison Lewis at Frances Goldin Literary Agency.

I’m from New Zealand and now live in Somerville, Massachusetts, with my sweet little violent cat, Juno.
